All of this should be leadable

Rhytmic walk variations

At Wednesday Club summer edition we played with rhytmic walk variations. These were done in side-by-side position mirroring each other movements.

We also focused on leading and following these different variations and rhythms, as well as tried to come up with our own walk variations.

While you are leading such a walks, it’s important to feel and “listen” that your partner is joining you in the movement. We had a general rule of the side step breaking us out from the normal ongoing footwork pattern allowing us to transition to these walks. Little change in the tension of your body helps your partner to know something different is happening. To get such leading and following subtle, leaders should focus more on a movement in their own body, whilst followers should be able to listen their partner’s body and transfer movements in their own body.
